Paul is the manager of RPA's Central Region office and joined the company in 2012 after serving as the Director of Facilities Compliance for the Cleveland Clinic Health System. For over a decade, he has been specializing in safety regulations, code compliance, and standards compliance / interpretation. The majority of Paul's experience has been focused on the healthcare industry. In his role with the Cleveland Clinic Health System, Paul was responsible for survey preparation, training/education, construction/renovation drawing reviews, and the process of commissioning construction/renovation projects at health care facilities throughout the country (over 23 million square feet of property). Paul has experience working with the entire spectrum of healthcare related occupancies including large academic medical centers, ambulatory surgery centers, and medical office buildings.
Paul has participated in numerous surveys conducted by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), and various State and Local Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Through his knowledge and experience, Paul is able to provide realistic consultation and solutions relative to survey preparation, facility tours, documentation review, management of deficiencies, and post-survey follow-up (including remediation plan implementation and report development).
Paul is a Board Member and Founding Member of the Northern Ohio Society for Healthcare Engineering (NOSHE) and is currently their Advocacy Liaison. He is also a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Paul is a member of the NFPA Healthcare Section Codes & Standards Committee.
Paul holds a Master's of Science Degree in Environmental Science and is a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP). He serves RPA clients out of the Cleveland, OH office.
